It was always in my heart to help people and a strong desire to bring them hope one way or another. As a nurse's assitant I tried to do that to the best of my ability for the terminally ill patient in the name of Jesus. God being first in all things in my life I was able to accomplish much through the working of the Holy Spirit in my home and church. My home being a refuge and home to others and the church as teacher of the gospel. I was able to take some theology and leadership studies and worked in outreach programs. I am hoping for the Lords strength to go back to expanding and studying other areas in leadership for the purpose of reaching the lost for Christ.

I have chronic illness for a year and a half now, the hardest part was accepting the changes. Yet going through this process has helped me to understand others who are going through so much. I have definitly come closer to knowing Gods power in my life through this for by His grace I still stand and press towards the goal that is marked out for us. My faith has reached a highe level through this and its easy for me to believe that if He can do it for me He can do it for others. No matter what type of chronic illness we may have or what circumstance we confront, His strength can show through are weakness.

The 7 Top Lupus Diet

The 7 Top Lupus Diet Don'ts

Do not drink alcohol, pop (a.k.a. soda for those in the U.S.!), energy drinks, or other 'acidic' non-healthy drinks, including treated or public drinking water facilities.

Do not eat processed foods, or foods with unhealthy preservatives such as MSG (which include most foods in the center isles of big box food chains).

Do not eat red meat. A little fish such as salmon is great, and chicken. For some even these may trigger flares, so be cognisant of how it makes you… Continue

THOU SHALL LAUGH! WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?

Laughter is an audible expression or appearance of merriment or happiness or an inward feeling of joy and pleasure (laughing on the inside). It may ensue (as a physiological reaction) from jokes, tickling and other stimuli. ...

What ever the reason we do laugh we don't get enough of it with all the troubles in this world today its becoming harder to laugh. There is so much saddness and anger and tears going around and so much fustration and "no happiness".

Job 5:17 Happy is… Continue

You too dear Cookie! Get a lot of rest. I hear that acupuncture works really well for people with lupus, and plan to try it soon. Check out naet.com - you should be able to find one in your area if you are interested...

Love ya,
Amy

Well, it's not here yet, but it's coming and this was so pretty I had to give it to you! Thanks for the graphic you left me. I just got it today because of the internet being down. Love ya!

Thanks Cookie! I talked with a friend of mine today who is an md, and she said it might also be because I have been on the pred for 6+ months. I'm thinking it is going to take some real effort to get rid of this weight, but that's ok, the things that are worth it in life are worth striving for, right?

How are you today? I hope that you had a great Monday! TTYS Amy

It's so hard, I honestly thought that the second I went down to 20 mg of prednisone the change would be visible in my face! Oh well, maybe once I'm down to 10. It's a tough process, kudos to you and thanks for the comment :-) I like this site a lot, and think it's about time there was more awareness of this disease!!!!

I have to send my laptop to HP to be fixed. It's still under warranty. So I won't be here a while. I just got the box to put it. I have no idea how long it will take. My laptop is my only contact with the outside word most days. My brother in-law has me hooked up to a monitor for now. This is the only pc have right now

As for my lupus I haven't been doing well. I keep going to the doctors and they can't figure it out so frustrating.

Hermana Cookie, Thanks for the note! I hope that you are feeling OK and in good spirits. Life is throwing curve balls my way and the enemy is nipping at my heals. I tied a knot at the end of my rope and I'm holding on! I reckon that I'm in the Masters fire being melted down. You are in my thoughts and prayers! Good night. Love, Kim
