Dear Ellen,

No, I'm not at all overwhelmed at the amount of estrogen flowing thru this site! As I've always said, having lupus has given me the opportunity to meet with all those beautiful sisters I never had!

As for the headaches, well it has mainly been due to spending too much time under flouro lighting - strange that I can take all the heat and sunshine on a bicycle - but flouro lighting without any natural sunlight makes me feel ill.

And as for Facebook... I just haven't had the time. With work, websites, blogs and all the other stuff, I thought I'd wait until I finally get this book of mine published.

Best Wishes... Geoff.

I'm still figuring out maneuvering here - sorry I missed this. I'll look for you on FB, too~

Intracranial Hypertension, Pseudotumor Cerebri - Journal?

Intracranial hypertension (IH) is a rare condition in which there are many, many questions and few answers. It is often mis-diagnosed and outright missed by many physicians, but it can be a part of the Lupus/autoimmune experience.

Intracranial hypertension - the definition:

*Intra - inside
*Cranial - the skull
*Hyper - too much
*Tension - pressure

*Intracranial hypertension is the condition that results in increased pressure of the fluid that surrounds the brain and spina… Continue

Lupus - a wolf in sheep's clothing

"The wolf" is sneaky. It's tricky. It hides. It pretends. It's ferocious. It kills.

Lupus, "the wolf", is a disease often resulting in Migraine and other headache disorders.

When living my early years in Oregon, spending time in the wilderness, I happened upon wolves in the wild. I've looked at them in curiosity and excitement, but never fright. For the most part, wolves would prefer not to be around people... not to be observed. I never looked at a wolf as something to be afraid of. Perhaps t… Continue

"T-Reg Mary" and her gift of life

No, not "Typhoid Mary", spreading death and disease, but an unnamed woman I dubbed "T-Reg Mary" because she developed helpful antibodies and shared them with the world. I will edit this later, but wanted you all to see it as I received it. If you aren't familiar with Killer T's (soldiers with weapons) and Regulatory T cells (generals of the army) and how they work in autoimmune diseases, Here is a link to my blog post explaining these cells:… Continue
